Hana Yoshida commented on her attitude for the upcoming season. Here’s a translation of her comments.

At the Japanese team press conference held on the 30th in Tokyo for the opening of the 2024-25 figure skating season, Hana Yoshida (19) announced “Step” as her theme for this season.

Last season, in her first full year as a senior skater, she won bronze medal at the GP Final and made her debut at the World Championships. This season, as the pre-season for the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics, she planned it as, “Last year, my first year as a senior, was the Hop, this year is the Step, next year will be the Jump.”

“I want to compete with my full strength in every competition, believing that each one will lead to the next, and that the Olympics are on the horizon. I want to fight with all my might in every competition,” Yoshida said.

She also mentioned Amber Glenn as a competitor she looks up to and who also jumps triple axel. “She gave me the courage to keep challenging myself.”

Hana Yoshida will compete in the second GP event at Skate Canada (October 25-27) and the fifth event in Finland (November 15-17).
