Here’s a translation of Yuma Kagiyama’s comments posted on Sports Graphic Number Web.

“I think it was good to participate in this competition, and everything I need to progress further has been revealed at this competition. I want to enhance my overall abilities even more. Of course, including quad jumps, and I think I can improve in the components scores even more. So, I want to improve all aspects,” Kagiyama reflected on Grand Prix de France.

“I think Uno (Shoma) was the one who led the way in being able to perform a stable routine with so many quadruple jumps… Additionally, many skaters are emerging who can deliver high-difficulty and consistent performances. It feels like there are a lot of Nathans (Chen) in the field now,” Kagiyama said with a smile about the current level of competition.

“This season is going to be really tough and high-level. Well, I don’t think 300 points are impossible for me, and through this competition, if I work on what’s lacking, I can clearly see reaching 300 points. So, without rushing, I want to firmly find what I need to do, practice thoroughly until the next NHK Trophy, and aim for the Final,” Kagiyama stated.

“With a one-year break, I’m approaching this season with a fresh start, so I have a strong desire to aim higher in the world. I don’t think I should rush this season, so I want to gradually extend what I can do at 100%. I hope to feel growth throughout the Grand Prix series and aim for the World Championships with a full-max program,” Kagiyama said about his goals for the season.
