The CEO of RUSADA has explained the agency’s position regarding the case of figure skater Kamila Valieva.
From September 26th to 28th, hearings on Valieva’s case are taking place at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
“As we have stated before, RUSADA believes that the athlete’s side has not been able to prove, at the level required by the rules, her complete lack of fault.
As in the presentation of the case to the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Panel (DAP), RUSADA maintains that the athlete bears some responsibility for the rule violation. However, it is minimal, and a reasonable sanction could have been a warning,” said Veronica Loginova.

There’s something people still don’t understand in Russia. Doping is not allowed for anyone, regardless of whether you are an amateur, professional, child, teenager, adult, disabled or old. Anyone who takes part in an official competition must be clean. If someone is not clean, all results after the positive doping result are invalid. The severity of the guilt of the person caught does not matter.
