During a meeting with participants of the youth forum “Mashuk” in Pyatigorsk, Kostornaia was asked about what motivated her to stay in sports after injuries.
“In my childhood, I had a few injuries, and they were all minor. However, in the last four years, there have been many fractures, many moments when it seems like this is the end of my career.
In these moments, it is very important to have people who believe in you by your side. If they are there, everything becomes easier to bear. And it is also important to believe in yourself, that gives you a boost,” noted the 19-year-old athlete.
Kostornaia is the 2020 European champion in singles figure skating. Currently, she competes in pairs with Georgi Kunitsa.
