“A very strange phrase, in my opinion, from the doctor of the Olympic figure skating team, Philipp Shvetsky, in an interview with TASS:

‘As for my guilt in this whole matter, I am indeed guilty. And I am not sure I will ever forgive myself for this. We did not protect Kamila. And it is a fact of guilt for all of us. Once again: I am guilty for her. But I must exclude myself from the list of suspects in this story…’

In my understanding, if a person responsible for medical support considers themselves guilty and voices it, then perhaps they should have acknowledged their guilt a bit earlier, not one and a half years after the incident occurred.

However, if a person, while stating their guilt, simultaneously wants to ‘exclude themselves from the list of suspects in this story’ in a legal sense, it practically means shifting the blame onto the athlete. Like saying, ‘Kamila, deal with your glass/cocroaches on your own…’

Perhaps the doctor simply formulated what he wanted to say in an unfortunate way. But it is perceived exactly like that.

I am not even talking about the fact that Kamila should have been the first to be excluded from the list of suspects in this story. Not the doctor himself,” Vaitsekhovskaya wrote.
