The pair takes second place after the short program with a score of 74.64 points.

“Probably, in general, we are glad that we managed to compete. Of course, I’m not happy with my mistake on the jump; I expected more from myself; I should have skated better,” said Brandon.

“The condition of our coach, Todd Sand, is very serious. He is still in the hospital. You know, it’s hard to train when you’re broken inside. Yes, we try to work hard and well—to make Todd proud of us. We feel that he is with us,” Knierim added with tears.
