The results of Russian National Junior Championships 2016 among ladies. It really was a tough competition! But no changes happened to the rank of first four girls after the short program.
Polina Tsurskaya predictably took the title of new Russian Junior Champion. And she is definitely a new future Russian star in women’s figure skating. So, I hope they will work on her presentation. Such talent deserves more interesting and modern programs and prettier dresses. 136,53 (70,58+66,25) for the free program and 210, 04 total score.
According to Maria Sotskova it was her worst performance of the free program this season. But still she managed to keep the second place (overall and in free program). 124,11 (61,51+63,60) for the free program and 191,81 total score.
So, Polina Tsurskaya and Maria Sotskova will represent Russia at Youth Olympic Games in Norway.
Alisa Fedichkina also managed to keep her third place and win bronze medal. Free program was a problem for Alisa all the season, but here she had a pretty good skate. 120,55 for the free program (58,84+61,71) and total score 187,44.
Polina Nugumanova also kept her fourth place. I really liked her Juliette program! So charming! 120,12 (61,20+58,92) and total score 185,36.
Alisa Lozko moved one place higher after the short program in overall ranking and took the 5th place. 113,80 (56,95+56,85) and total score 175,55
I’m so sad for Serafima Sakhanovich! It was a disastrous skate at the free program. Last in the free program, 17th overall. Puberty can be too cruel for skaters((
The competition was really impressive! Incredible level. Russian girls are not only strong technically but more and more of them have really good abilities to get high second mark too. I don’t know what Russian Figure skating Federation will do with all of them…to many great girls….only three spots for European and World Championships(
